"Make Your Child a Winner" Author Pradeep Kapoor, Rupa & Co. New Delhi, 1st Edition, 2002, pp 258, price Rs. 195.00

Dr. Kapoor brings together his experience as a pediatrician, parent and counselor to pen down how parenting should be. It initiates the novice to the psychological development of early childhood. The book then takes the reader through the child's world at home and school, which impact their behavior. It deals with the recognition of the problem child, often labeled as lazy, stubborn or careless, by parents and teachers. It deals with issues of child abuse, parent-child communication, home-work, disciplining and illness, all of which could adversely influence child behavior and self-esteem. Illustrative case histories making the reading interesting and should provoke parents, teachers and physicians to introspect on how each one should be dealing with children.
