Pediatrics on Hand - http://pediatric-sonhand.com/ Personal digital assistant or PDA's are becoming increasingly popular with doctors. These small and handy computers are also popularly called 'Palmtop's' or handheld computers because of their size. 'Pediatrics on hand' is an online guide for pediatricians on using the PDA's. The website contains a listing of software and textbooks that can be downloaded. It includes a 'new user' guide to the PDA and collections of software that can be downloaded on to the PDA and used for ready reference in the clinic and wards. Popular pediatric textbooks including Harriet Lane Handbook, 5 min Pediatric Consult, Ridley's Kidometer, Pocket Neonatology and Treatment strategies in Pediatrics are available for download (subscription required). 'Pedisuite' is another useful download that contains clinical and drug information including instant calculators for drug dosages, antibiotics, critical care drips, code drugs, fluids and information on toxicology, management of common emergencies and growth charts. The website also contains parent education information that can be downloaded on to the PDA. A webshot of a popular PDA displaying one of available software is displayed in Figure 1.

Flesh and Bones - www.fleshandbones.com/ Flesh and Bones is a useful teaching guide for medical students. It contains a collection of MCQ's on various specialties, an image bank, and free online chapters from popular medical textbooks. 'Survival guides' give clinical information that will be of use on clinical rotations. A reading room, bookshop, links to other websites and a fun and games page with medial quiz and contests are also available.

Pulmonary slides - www.az-air.com/ A collection of slides, photos, X-rays on various pulmonary disorders is available for free download from the Asra Zeneca pharmaceutical company website. The site requires registration. The image collections from Bone's pulmonary atlas are also available for download from their site.

Neonatal Formulary - http://www.neonatalformulary.com/ This is the online version of the popular neonatology drug book authored by the Northern Neonatal Network of United Kingdom. The formulary contains comprehensive information on various drugs along with latest references. Sample chapters from the formulary can be downloaded on to the PC or the Personal digital assistant. The complete eBook can be downloaded after payment.
