I thank Dr. V. Vishwanathan for his comments on my article. As both the male and female children are affected, it could be a case of Severe Childhood Autosomal Recessive Muscle Dystrophy (SCARMD), a rare entity in our setup.

I will try to investigate the case with immunocytochemistry of muscle biopsy and DNA analysis.
